Who is eligible?

  • Workers in the unorganised sector: construction workers, migrant labourers, street vendors, domestic workers, agricultural labour, artisans, small shop workers, gig workers, etc.

  • Applicant must usually be aged 16–59 (verify local portal rules for exact age limits).

  • Applicant must have Aadhaar or be willing to complete Aadhaar-based verification.


Documents required (what the customer should bring or upload)

  • Aadhaar card (number) — mandatory (used for OTP and KYC).

  • Mobile number linked to Aadhaar (required for OTP). If mobile not linked, MNR can assist with alternate verification steps — extra time may be needed.

  • Bank account details (optional but recommended) — copy of passbook or cancelled cheque for any future benefit transfers.

  • Proof of occupation / recent work evidence (if available) — photo, business card or employer declaration (helps in classification but often optional).

  • Passport-size photo (optional, for certain local procedures) — most registrations use Aadhaar photo.


How to apply — step-by-step (we handle it for you)

Choose one: Online self-help or MNR Assisted (Recommended)

A. MNR Assisted (in-shop / remote)

  1. Book: Click Book Now or visit our MNR e-Hub center.

  2. Provide details: Full name, Aadhaar, mobile number, occupation details. Upload / hand over documents.

  3. OTP verification: MNR will help you receive/enter Aadhaar OTP securely.

  4. Submit application: We fill the e-Shram form, classify occupation, and submit to the portal.

  5. Confirmation: You’ll receive a registration acknowledgment and your UMID (e-Shram ID) via SMS/email. MNR shares the reference and a soft copy.

  6. Optional: Request printed card or courier delivery (additional charge).

B. Self Online (if you prefer)

  1. Visit the official e-Shram portal on a computer/mobile with Aadhaar-linked phone.

  2. Enter Aadhaar and complete OTP verification.

  3. Fill personal and employment details, upload optional documents.

  4. Submit and note your UMID/acknowledgement SMS.


Estimated processing time

  • Assisted submission: usually immediate to 1 business day to get the registration acknowledgment and UMID via SMS.

  • Self online: usually immediate after OTP verification.

  • Note: In rare cases (Aadhaar mismatch, mobile not linked), extra verification may take several days.
